A. Language & Booth Presentation
The conversations you have while representing the charity, reflect on Anime For humanity. Please keep the language clean and reverent.
During the con peak hours, the table might get a little messy with random cards, flyers, notes.. Etc. If possible, please make sure it stays neat and tidy throughout the event.
Once you start attending conventions, a problem you start to hear is Con Funk. it sounds like: awful body odor radiating from individuals and sometimes entire rooms at conventions.
YES! Please take showers and use deodorant.
The volunteers should wear the AFH shirt at all times during their shifts.
Pro tip: Walking/ standing all day can be very tiring, make sure you wear comfortable shoes.
If you are planning to come in Cosplay, make sure it’s appropriate for someone representing Anime For Humanity. Please avoid any cosplay with potentially offensive images, writing, or designs.
Cosplay can be a great draw and bring lots of attention and photo ops, which means more Anime Therapy Kits to hand out and more people with mental health resources. We ENCOURAGE you to cosplay!!
E. Stay hydrated & take breaks
When you’re talking for hours, your mouth can get dry and you will get hungry. Please take a break, have a seat in a quiet area of the event, and enjoy your meal in peace. Help keep the Anime For Humanity booth or table space a professional place by getting your snack on outside the booth. Yes! You can have a drink at the booth but please keep them under the table.
F. Opting out
At any time you might feel distressed or discomfort over speaking to the attendees or just being overwhelmed by the size of the event, it’s perfectly fine to opt out of duty and take a break. You can help with assembling the Anime Therapy kits outside of the noise.
F. Break down/Clean up When signing the contract with any convention, they make sure that you leave the booth as clean as you first found it. Failing to comply with the contract protocol would be detrimental and the convention can ban us from ever exhibiting in there. That said please, help your fellow volunteer with breaking down the booth and cleaning up the space.
